It’s all about BOOKS at Whitehorse!

We are very excited to tell you that WHJUN have been donated over 800 books (by the Children’s Book Project) to share with the children. 18 boxes full to the brim were delivered today and were full of beautiful non-fiction, chapter books, picture books and books written in different languages.

We would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to the organisation and charity ‘Children’s Book project’ for all of their hard work and raising the profile of Reading for children. This is something that we are extremely passionate about at Whitehorse. We continually encourage Reading for Pleasure; developing the children’s vocabulary, capturing their imagination and being immersed in a book of their own.

Children at WHJUN and Brigstock (KS2) will be given a book on their own to take home for the Christmas holidays. We hope they enjoy having their own book gift.

It doesn’t stop there! We will be hosting two more book events throughout the year. In the Spring term we will be having a Pop-up Book Hut and in the Summer term we will host a WHJUN Bookshop for another opportunity for even more books to go home. We can’t wait! Watch this space.
