For the last couple of weeks the children in year 1 have been looking at lots of different types of toys. Some new and some old! We have been discussing the materials that the toys are made from and how that has changed over the years. We also talked about what we love about our own toys.
Some of our favourite old toys have been the spinning top, the yoyo and the jack in the box. We are currently having a go at drawing and painting our toys, thinking about colour mixing and shading to get the colours just right. We are also looking forward to planning, making and evaluating our toys using junk modelling in a few weeks time!
