Recently, year 3 have been studying Aesop’s fables. We have discussed the features of a fables and what makes them different from fairy tales as well as learning about what a moral is and how the fables convey these morals. The children really enjoyed studying ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf, ‘The Ants and the Grasshopper’ and ‘The Lion and the Mouse, among others. We then finished off this unit by writing a retell of ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’.
