Busy Bees!
We have had a really busy two weeks in Little Cypress and have been making the most of our time here, despite the inclement and unpredictable weather. We have been doing the Daily Mile (Nursery and Rainbows) around the top playground and doing really well with this – what fantastic athletes we are! We have to run around the playground six times, so what an impressive feat for such young children!
Getting Arty!
We have been so creative in the last couple of weeks, making some gorgeous clay love hearts (and painting and decorating them) for Valentine’s Day. We have also started learning about Chinese New Year and we know that this year is the Year of the Horse.. We have learned about The Great Race and how the rat won the race, even though he was so sneaky! Rainbows have made paper lanterns and created pictures/collages of The Great Race, as well as making fire breathing dragons. Nursery have been writing the names of the animals in The Great RaceĀ in Mandarin and have done brilliantly!
Artists, Writers and Readers
Nursery children have been focusing intently on doing some wonderful pictures of their own choosing and adding their own emergent writing to annotate them. We are noticing how they are increasingly adding detail to their work and explaining carefully what they have drawn and written; differentiating between the two. We have a class full of book worms and both storytimes and keyworker reading times are always a firm favourite!
Rainbow Certificate Winners
Congratulations this week to Madeleine, Jesse, Bowie and Eniola for receiving a Rainbow Certificate each. What superstars!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
