CYP LOWER – Little Cypress: Reds and Pinks for Lunar New Year

We have been enjoying learning more about the Lunar New Year; the Year of the Rabbit. We have had lots of fun learning stories such as Little Rabbit Foo Foo and many of us can now recite the whole tale! We have written some thoughtful wishes on red strips of paper to hang on our Wishing Tree, a tradition to celebrate the Lunar New Year. It was amazing hearing all the wishes, which included trampolines in bedrooms, dragons, new teddies, ponies, ice-creams and playing with friends!

This week we have painted some incredible Cherry Blossom pictures after seeing images of the Cherry Blossom trees in countires such as Japan and China. We have also gone all Jackson Pollock with some modern art – flicking and splashing reds and pinks on huge pieces of paper. We are saving all of our wonderful art work to show our parents and carers at Museum Day in the hall next Friday.

Our Makaton sign of the week is ‘white’ and the children have been learning it today. Please click here to see how to sign the word ‘white’. It goes very well with the word from last week, ‘snow’. Click here for a reminder of how to sign ‘snow’. Brilliant signing, children!

We have done many other exciting things this week including visiting Forest School, going to the Adventure Playground, playing different circle games and lots more!

Have a wonderful weekend.
