CYP LOWER – Little Cypress: Who will help me eat this bread?

Making bread

We have had a fun week in Little Cypress, continuing to combine the theme of Healthy Week with our interest in The Farm. The week began with listening and joining in to the story of The Little Red Hen. After working out what you need to make bread, we made our own fresh bread rolls in Rainbows and Nursery. We had to be quite patient whilst the dough proved and we all had a go at kneading and shaping the rolls. The proof was in the pudding and we all agreed that the rolls were absolutely delicious!

Continuing the Healthy theme, we have been talking about foods that we should try and eat plenty of, including fruit and vegetables. The story of Handa’s Surprise allowed us to explore and discuss different fruits. We did lots of activities around this theme, including practising our scissor skills by cutting out different fruits and gluing them to make a fruit collage.

Makaton Sign of the Week

As usual, we have been learning a new Makaton sign. This week, the word is one of my favourites: coffee! Click here to see how to sign coffee!

The children have been making the most of the outside areas in Little Cypress and our wild meadow is looking particularly beautiful.

Sun Protection Reminders

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the warm weather. Please remember to send your child in to Little Cypress with a filled water bottle, a sunhat and suncream already applied.
