CYP LOWER: Little Cypress – Mother’s Day, Wild Flower Gardens, Crowns and Red Noses!

Wow – what an action-packed week we have had in Little Cypress! Here are some highlights of what we have been doing:

Artists at Work

We have been so busy creating our Mother’s Day cards for Sunday and practising our name writing for the inserts, as well as thinking very carefully about why we love our mummies. The reasons were numerous, but the majority seem to be based around food, especially pasta! We also had great fun in our junk modelling area this week, creating some impressive models.

Wild Flower Garden and Tadpoles

Mrs Jerman and her green fingers have been creating a wonderful wild flower garden in our Nursery playground, using all the seeds kindly donated by parents, so thank you! We all had a go at planting some seeds and we are eagerly watching for signs of growth. Out tadpoles are getting bigger and stronger by the day and we are making sure that they are well fed with pond weed, cucumber and fish food.

Crown Designs for the Coronation

We have designed and created amazing crowns for a Coronation Mug Project – more information will follow soon! Families will be able to purchase their child’s mug with their wonderful design on and help raise funds for the school. We are looking forward to celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III in May, with lots of fun events planned.

Comic Relief

The week ended with our fund raising day for Comic Relief with the children and staff wearing clothes that bring them joy. What fabulous rays of sunshine descended on Cypress today, bringing everyone joy and raising money for this amazing charity. At Lower School, we raised over £200 for this fabulous cause.

Makaton Sign of the Week

Finally, our Makaton Sign of the Week is pie. Have a go at signing the word pie!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and a relaxing Mother’s Day.
