CYP LOWER – Little Cypress: Caterpillars, Chrysalides and Butterflies!

In Little Cypress this week we have been enjoying Science Week and learning all about the lifecycle of the butterfly. Our caterpillars have turned in to chrysalides and we have been watching them very closely to make sure we don’t miss them emerging as beautiful butterflies. We have been reading stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Crunching, Munching Caterpillar, whilst thinking carefully about the different stages of the lifecycle.

To practise our cutting skills, we have been carefully cutting out silhouettes of butterflies and then painting patterns on just one side, then folding the paper over to make our symmetrical butterflies. It was like magic seeing the stunning butterflies emerge on the paper!

Our cress mountain from last week has been well utilised to make delicious cress sandwiches (which we devoured) at the start of the week and dinosaur world towards the end!

Have a wonderful weekend!
