This week, children across Key Stage 2 took part in Cypress Primary’s very first Maths Competition and what a fantastic event it was!
Pupils worked in teams through five exciting 15-minute rounds that challenged them to use a wide range of mathematical skills. Not only did they draw upon their number knowledge and curriculum learning, but they also applied their problem-solving abilities, logical thinking and teamwork skills to tackle a series of engaging mathematical puzzles.
The final challenge, a budgeted tower-building task. This activity required teams to carefully manage resources while demonstrating creativity, resilience and determination. It was wonderful to see every participant persevere, adapt their strategies and work collaboratively under pressure.
The atmosphere throughout the event was incredible. It was a real joy to watch the children so deeply engaged in something they love. Their enthusiasm, effort and dedication shone through in every challenge and all of the mathematicians involved should be extremely proud of their achievements.
Congratulations to our winning teams!
