A message from the Cypress MACs

Dear Cypress community,

What a busy term it has been!

Congratulations and welcome to the new Members of the Academy Council, Stuart Reid (new appointed parent MAC), Fatma Guerry and Afjana Khatun (new staff MACs).

As a local governing team we focus on teaching and learning, outcomes for children and behaviour and safeguarding. We are reassured that Cypress is growing from strength to strength whilst continually reflecting and identifying ways to improve the outcomes for children in our school. It is always a privilege and a pleasure to be able to come into school and see it in full action. Hopefully, you have seen more MACs in and around the school during their school visits this term. We are hoping that we will see more of us in the upcoming months.

Through our meetings and visits to the school it cannot go unnoticed the level of commitment, care and determination of all the staff at Cypress. They work really hard to provide a broad, balanced curriculum for children and it goes without saying that as MACs we really appreciate this. It is even greater to hear and see children enjoying learning, feeling safe and making good progress. We also have to thank our parents and carers for ensuring your children attend school, your involvement with our community events and support for the staff.

As the end of term approaches everyone is definitely in need of a well earned break.  It is also important to acknowledge that this time of year is not always easy for some families, and financial strains may be a particular worry this year.  Whatever, your family circumstances we hope that you are able to have some kind break and have moments of joy with your families.

Wishing you all a safe and merry festive period and we very much look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Best wishes,

Members of the Academy Council
