CYP LOWER – These are a few of our favourite things…in Little Cypress

Busy Bees

We truly are busy bees in Little Cypress and the weeks seem to be flying by!  It seems difficult to believe that we are now nearing the end of our first half term. All the staff in Little Cypress are delighted at how well our Rainbows and Nursery children are settling in to their new classes, understanding and following the routines and also making friends. We are so impressed with the children’s manners, confidence and the fact that they are such inquisitive learners, exploring the environment with such relish.

How we learn and what we love

The staff have been closely observing the children to ensure they understand the learning style of each individual, as well as noticing the various things that the children enjoy playing with and exploring the most, so that we can adapt the environment accordingly, depending on their interests. In the last two weeks, the children have been showing particular interest in malleable materials such as playdough and plasticine and have loved moulding these materials in to a variety of wonderful creations, including gingerbread men and Gruffalos.

We had some incredible baristas making us and each other teas and coffees using the stainless steel teapots!  We have loved sorting and playing with autumnal resources such as conkers, leaves and acorns and mixing them in with woodland creatures to create some imaginary and magical small world scenarios.

Seve has been getting to know all the children in Rainbows and Nursery and loves all the attention, cuddles and strokes he gets. He also thinks the children are superstar ball throwers!
