Happy New Year to everyone at Cypress Primary School! We hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas break and found some time to rest and recharge. It’s been a pleasure to see all of our children returning happily to school, eager to learn and catch up with friends. The weather has been very cold and icy this week, so please continue to take care on Cypress Road and surrounding streets as you make your way to school.
We Care
At the Upper School, we have been thinking about the Pegasus Value ‘We Care’. We discussed how our learning behaviours in the classroom can help or hinder those around us. Over the next week, we are going to focus on showing positive learning behaviours that allow all of to reach our potential in every single lesson.
Cypress Superstars
At the Lower School we celebrated children who had been awarded Rainbows this week. It was lovely to hear how well children have settled back into school and celebrate their achievements – congratulations! Well done to Akari, Martina, Leo O, Sufyan and Leoh D in Violet class for their brilliant writing, describing Little Red Riding Hood. Congratulations to Dani-Elrod in Sycamore Class who came to share his beautifully presented research about the rainforest. Ms Binks enjoyed learning all about the cat claw tree.
Dates for your diary
Please click here to check the website for upcoming diary dates for this half term and beyond. Next week we will be sending home a newsletter for each year group, detailing what your child will be learning this term and this will also include some key dates.
We wish all of our children and families a lovely weekend – wrap up warm!
