CYP Lower – Little Cypress: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….

Glitter and Sparkle

Little Cypress has been transformed in to a Winter Wonderful as December arrived on Monday! As if by magic, the children arrived for the new week ahead to be greeted with Christmas trees, Christmas displays and Christmas activities galore! They have loved admiring the decorations on the tree and have been dancing to festive songs with great enthusiasm!

Our songs for our Christmas singing show have been practised with great gusto and sometimes we even sing together in unison! We have been opening a day at a time on our magical online advent calendar and loved playing the interactive games and seeing what the characters in the festive village are getting up to each morning. Our number recognition skills have been improving as we are looking for the number of each day with eagle eyes!

This week has been packed with making our reindeer food to put out for Santa’s reindeers on Christmas Eve. We mixed together oats, dried cranberries and bird food to make a delicious snack for Santa’s four legged friends. Our fine motor skills were honed by scooping the mixture into our conical bags.

In Nursery, our creativity was let loose when we designed our transient art Christmas cards, by using loose parts to decorate our trees. Every masterpiece was completely individual and we were very impressed by the precision and care that the children took to place the objects.
