This week at the Lower School we have been thinking about our Pegasus Value ‘We have Good Manners’. We have been working on showing kindness and respect towards everyone in our school community. The children are showing they are true ‘Pegasus People’ and we are very proud of them. At the Upper School, we were thinking about planning for success during Monday’s assembly. We know that thinking about how long a task may take, identifying resources that can help, considering steps to success and also who can help us, can increase the chances of us being sucessful!
Ruby Class Advent Assembly
We began the morning on Thursday with a brilliant assembly from Ruby Class about Advent. The children told us the story of Advent and performed with real confidence and pride. We were treated to three songs including ‘ This Little Light of Mine’ and ‘Holly, Jolly Christmas’. We also had a beautiful song sharing the importance of kindness and how we need more of it in the world. This is such an important message for us all to remember especially at this time of year. Ruby Class you showed incredible teamwork and empathy towards each other. Thank you to Miss Stopher and Miss Mitchell for all your hard work preparing the children for their performance. We would also like to thank all or parents and carers who came along to support the children for being such an excellent audience.
Oak Class Assembly
Today we were treated to a deightful assembly delivered by Oak Class. It began with a quick sneaky peak into the Ancient Egyptian art of mummification and then on to a full biology lesson on the importance of the heart and the its impact on the other vital organs in the body. The children then finished off their assembly with a song rewritten by Tom and Hazel about the heart to Elton John’s ‘I’m Still Standing’, with Dara accompanying on the piano. Sam also worked on the slides and ensuring all the technical elements went smoothly during the performance. Many thanks to Miss Hassan and Ms Snedden who supoprted the children to deliver such a wonderful assembly and a big well done to Oak Class, who wrote their assembly independently. We are very proud of you!
Cypress Superstars
Well done to Maliyah and Austin in Green Class who came to share their brilliant writing about the first moon landing. They shared some very interesting facts with Ms Binks and had also used some exciting vocabulary to start their sentences. Well done both of you! Congratulations to Laolu and Shamira in Yellow Class who both came to show their lovely writing. They had been working very hard on their letter formation and using their sounds to help them spell the words correctly. Well done to Amiyah, Jack, Sukhbinder, Elis, Amani, Alara, Melissa and Isadora in Larch Class, who have made Egyptian pyramids containing miniature tombs and relics wih interesting facts inside. It was fantastic to speak with you and hear you speak so confidently about Ancient Egypt! Araya and Kevin worked independently on their column addition, showing a clear understanding of the method! Well done, we are very proud of you! Frankie in Beech has been working hard to find equivalent fractions independently – well done. Molly in Beech has created an interactive poster on shadufs based on her work on Ancient Egypt – very thoughtful and creative presentation, Molly! Eddie and Maddie have been very busy outside of school and have earned the accolade of ‘Student of the Month’ in their Taekwondo Class – keep up the focus and dedication!
