Year Three wrapped up their fascinating study of Victorian life with a special treat—an afternoon tea! The year group had been learning all about this iconic Victorian pastime, and what better way to conclude their studies than by stepping into the past and enjoying some traditional delicacies?
The children indulged in freshly baked scones with cream and jam, light and refreshing cucumber sandwiches, and of course, plenty of delicious Victoria sponge cakes—a true highlight! The tables were laid with cloths and doilies and were brimming with these tasty treats, giving the students a real taste of history.
To wash it all down, they sipped on lemon squash, elderflower cordial, and, of course, a warm cup of tea—just like the Victorians would have. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and chatter as the children enjoyed their session of both learning and eating!
A huge thank you to the parents who generously helped make this event possible. Your support truly made the afternoon tea special, and the children had an unforgettable time. It was a wonderful way to bring history to life and create lasting memories.
Here’s to more learning, laughter, and, of course, delicious food!
