A week of fun
We have had a week of contrasts in Little Cypress with the weather! There was some beautiful autumnal sunshine, combined with October showers to see in the new month. The weather certainly didn’t dampen our spirits, however, and we have had a wonderful week of exploring, learning and laughing, both inside and out. It seems we have been here much longer than five weeks and we are all so proud of how our youngest children are settling; showing us their independence, resilience and creativity every day.
Autumn vibes
The ‘Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’ has meant exploration of all things autumnal this week, including sorting and counting conkers and acorns, re-telling ‘The Gruffalo’ story through a woodland small world, printing with autumn colours such as brown, orange, red, gold and yellow. We used some leftover apples and potatoes to make some fabulous repeating patterns.
Getting to know each other
It has been wonderful getting to know our Nursery children a little better through our keyworker reading system and we have loved sharing books with them and seeing which stories they want to take home to share with their families. Rainbow keyworker will begin next week and we also look forward to catching up with our lovely parents and carers for Parent/Teacher Meetings on Monday and Tuesday,
We have loved chalking on the playground, making huge train tracks, reading books and making dens, solving puzzles, creating beautiful drawings and practising writing our names on them, exploring capacity through water play and our ‘Autumn Soup’ concoction and so much more!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
