We have had a fantastic final term in Nursery with our topic being water. We have learned all about a fish’s journey to the sea with our story book ‘The River’ and also discovered new sea creatures whilst enjoying ‘Commotion in the Ocean.’ We explored the concept of floating and sinking with ‘Who Sank the Boat’ and have all enjoyed pretending to be pirates whilst reading ‘Jake’s First Day.’ This book has also helped us to discuss our next move to ‘big school’ where the children have enjoyed dipping their toes into what to expect in September! We have been making the most of the lovely weather and have been painting with water in the garden and also drawing round our shadows. We have also used the large construction to build boats and used the large chalk to draw pictures of the new sea creatures we have been learning about. It has been an absolute pleasure to teach all the children this year and we hope they have a lovely summer, ready to start Reception in September!
