CYP UPPER: We Care!

This week we have been thinking about our most important Pegasus value, -‘we care’, thinking carefully about how we show that to others, and ourselves. We have also been learning about Chinese New Year and have been excited to welcome in the Year of the Tiger! We have also been treated to an assembly involving a balanced argument about artefacts at the British Museum. The children presented arguments for and against returning items back to the country they originated from. There were some very salient points made on both sides. They finished off with a nod to our Collective Worship theme of ‘compassion’ and sang Bruno Mars’ ‘Count On Me’. Well done to Oak class who delivered their lines with clarity and confidence. A huge thanks also to Mr Opara, who worked hard to support the children to deliver such a fantastic assembly. If Oak class parents would like to watch the assembly again, it will be available on the class blog after today.

Brighten Your Bag Competition

We had some fantastic entries to the Croydon Council’s Brighten Your Bag Competition which was run before Christmas.  It’s aim was to highlight road safety and the important message of be bright be seen.  The children had put a lot of thought and effort into their designs, which were definitely eye-catching!  Croydon has just announced the winners, sadly not Cypress this year, but well done to everyone who entered!
