Today, Miss Tye launched the opening of the Reading Café, located within the school library. Year 3 and 4S were invited to the library to sit, relax and immerse themselves in an array of different books. Children enjoyed reading to each other and hearing others read to them, whilst munching on a biscuit and drinking a glass of orange juice.
At the entrance to the library, there was the fantastic Pop up Book Hut. It is here that the children were given the opportunity to choose a book of their own to keep and take home. It was full to the brim with exciting books and the children were very keen to share their chosen book with their loved ones. I would like to thank the charity ‘The Children’s Book Project’ who donated all of these wonderful books, that will now be rehomed to every child at Whitehorse Manor Junior School. It is such a positive and worthwhile charity!
We hope that the children come home and share their book with you. Reading for pleasure is KEY! Enjoy.
