What a delight to welcome Alim Kamara – storyteller extraordinaire, master of motivation and all-round good guy – back to Whitehorse Manor Junior School. It’s been so long since he shared his story about the little donkey who shook off the dirt they were trying to bury him under (until he was standing on top of the dirt!) and his assembly today, celebrating black history, was no less inspirational. If you ask your children when black people first came to Britain, their reply should include something about Cheddar and we all now know how big Africa actually is. As Alim says for ‘wow’: Cheese and Bread! What a great educator and whilst he’s taught us all the mantra: I. Am. Awesome! We all think he’s pretty awesome too.
