In reception our topic this half term is ‘People Who Help Us’ and this week, reception got the exciting opportunity to have a visit from the local fire brigade! The children enjoyed learning about how firefighters protect us, our homes and communities and we got the opportunity to see inside a real fire engine and even use some of the equipment! We also read the story ‘Emergency’ by the author Margaret Mayo and using our craft skills, we made our very own fire engines using a range of materials. Have you ever seen a fire engine before?
