CYP Lower – Welcome to the Summer Term in Little Cypress

Welcome Back!

How wonderful it was to welcome the Rainbow and Nursery children back to Little Cypress this week! They seem to have grown as quickly as the bean plants they took home before Easter and are being so grown-up and sensible, all ready for their last term in their current class before graduating to either Nursery or their Reception class in September.

We have had a fun-filled week and it is so nice to see some sunshine breaking through the clouds. Our cherry blossom tree in the Nursery playground is in full bloom and looking absolutely stunning! The blossom only lasts for a few weeks each year, so we are enjoying its glory whilst it lasts.

Budding Artists

Our little artists have been creating incredible still life pastel drawings of daffodils in Nursery. What an amazing job they did by observing the flowers really carefully and creating their own interpretations of what they saw. We have many budding Picassos, Monets and Matisses in our midst!

Rainbows have been busy making symmetrical butterflies by painting on one side of the card and then folding it over to create an identical pattern on the other side.

Makaton Sign of the Week

As usual, we have learned a new Makaton sign this week and it is one that is very useful for Little Cypress as we do this all the time: painting! Click here to see how to sign the word for ‘painting’ or ‘to paint’.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
