Gingerbread Men
We had a wonderful time last week in Little Cypress, getting our crafts ready for our Christmas hoops that go up in the hall next week! In Nursery, we have been reading various versions of The Gingerbread Man and have enjoyed chanting the repeated refrain of: Run, run as fast as you can – you can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man! We made our own clay gingerbread men and women, carefully rolling out the clay and giving our figures eyes and buttons. This week we will paint them and then string them up on our hoop for the Christmas decorations in the main school hall.
We had a very creative time playing with the gingerbread themed loose parts and the staff were amazed at the ingenuity of the children in their transient art creations.
Rainbows enjoyed making Christmas trees for their hoop.
Jack Frost Bites!
Jack Frost called on us last week! We had some very frosty mornings and the children enjoyed going on a hunt for ice! We needed to wrap up really warm as the temperatures plummeted, compared with the mildness of the week before. We had lots of fun trying to match numerous gloves, mittens, hats and scarves with their rightful owners at the end of each day!
Fundraising for Hurricaine Melissa
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Hurricaine Melissa fundraising for Jamaica. We loved seeing the children (and staff) in the colours of the Jamaican flag for this very worthy cause.
We hope you all enjoyed a happy weekend.
