BINF – Yellow Class: Learning, Exploring, and Imagining!

Yellow Class have had a wonderful half term packed with curiosity, creativity, and lots of fun! We have been busy learning all of our phonics sounds and tricky words, and the children have worked so hard to become confident readers. One of our favourite sounds has been ‘v’ for volcano! We enjoyed it so much that we explored volcanoes in books, researched where they can be found around the world, and linked this learning to our new topic, “Our Amazing World.”
Did you know that a sleeping volcano is called dormant? It can stay asleep for a very long time—and then suddenly erupt!

Our imaginations have been blasting off too! The children loved using their role play skills to control and navigate their very own class role-play rocket to space. We also explored all the different planets in our solar system!

As part of our new topic, Our Amazing World, we have also been learning about different ways to travel around the world. We’ve been using our imaginary aeroplane and ‘magic carpet’ to visit famous places and landmarks across the world. We even travelled all the way to the Statue of Liberty in New York—that was very far away! Our favourite stop, though, was definitely Big Ben, right here in London, England, where we live!
Alongside all our exciting learning, we have also been thinking about what makes a good friend. Yellow Class have shown kindness, teamwork, and wonderful care for each other throughout the half term.

It has been a fantastic few weeks full of discovery and joy—and we can’t wait for more amazing adventures next half term!
