This week in Nursery, we have continued reading the story ‘Brown bear, Brown bear’. The children are now familiar with the story and have enjoyed role playing as the different characters, recalling parts of the story.
In maths, our focus shape was a square. We started the week with a square hunt around the classroom, at the end of the week the children were drawing squares independently. Some used squares to make their own shape pictures. The children can confidently identify a square and know its properties are 4 sides (all the same length) and 4 corners.
Our sound of the week is “a”. All week the children have been thinking of things that begin with this sound. Items that were found in the classroom included an apple and an astronaut!!
