Another fun-filled week in Nursery! We have been reading the book ‘Kindness makes us Strong’ by Sophie Beer. This has led us to think about our actions and in particular, what makes a good friend. The children were able to share when someone has been a good friend to them this week. This included: sharing toys, saying good morning, reading stories together and painting pictures for each other. In maths, we have moved on from 5 little ducks to 5 little monkeys. The children have loved joining in with actions for this song! We have really focussed on the 1.1 counting of each monkey on the bed, making sure we only count each monkey once. We have been developing our cutting skills by making puppets. The children then used their puppets in the puppet show to act out their own versions of 5 little monkeys.
On Thursday, we arrived at Nursery with a mystery to solve.. ALL the playdough had gone missing!! But some children saved the day by suggesting we make our own. They enjoyed measuring all the ingredients out and mixing them together, making us a nice fresh batch to use that day. Well done everyone!
We have continued being busy this week exploring all of the different areas and activities. We have been keeping our brain awake and heart pumping with the introduction of the Daily Mile (a lap around the field) each day and the children have loved exploring new areas of the school. We will continue to introduce them to other learning areas as the term goes on (e.g the library, forest school and music room!).
