Cypress Lower School was overwhelmed with Hungry Caterpillars, Wizards, Gruffalos and Highway Rats as we celebrated World Book Day. It was so wonderful standing at the gate this morning to be greeted with witches from Room on the Broom, Frida Kahlo, Ada Twist the Scientist, Toad from Wind in the Willows, Thing 1 and so many more! In the classrooms, the teachers were replaced with Violet Beauregarde, Billy from Billy and the Beast, Snow White, The Queen of Hearts, Mr Bump, Frida Kahlo, among many others.
Miss Chapman hosted our official World Book Day assembly where children (and staff!) showcased their amazing costumes and spoke about their favourite books, with great enthusiasm. We even met Dolly Parton in Indigo Class, who founded her own charitable foundation ‘Imagination Library’, a book gifting programme devoted to inspiring a love of reading in the hearts of children everywhere. Each month, enrolled children from birth to age five, receive a high quality, age appropriate book in the post, free of charge.
