BINF – The Police Visit Reception At Beulah!

Last term in reception, we were learning about the different people who help us in our community. We learnt all about police officers, the role they play in society and how they help to protect us and keep us safe. The children loved using their imagination and role playing being a police officer. They got to dress up as police officers and made their very own walkie talkies, police badges and wanted posters. They even managed to help capture the elusive ‘Burglar Bill’ and return the teachers special jewellery that he had stolen from our classrooms.

We were also lucky enough to have a special visit from local police officers. They told us about the important job that they do and showed us some of the equipment they use to help them capture the ‘baddies’. The children were very excited to meet the officers and had lots of interesting questions for them. Alex asked the officers “What do you use handcuffs for, how do you use them?’ The officers allowed us to try on their police hats and jackets and take a look at their handcuffs. Many of the children decided that when they grow up they want to be a police officer.
