Cypress Primary – news update

Many thanks to everyone who visited our Book Fair.  We made a whopping £2500 in sales, which has earned Cypress £1450 worth of rewards to spend at Scholastic on books for the new Upper School library.  Thank you for your support!  The Reading Ambassadors will be helping to choose these new books in the coming weeks.  If any Cypress families would like to donate a book to the Upper School library you can do so by visiting ‘This is Book Love’ and more details can be found here.

Next Friday 18th March is Red Nose Day and children (and staff!) are welcome to come to school dressed as a superhero or as a local community/ historical hero.  Our School Council representatives will also be selling Red Noses in school for £1.50.  Please click here for the Lower School letter and the Upper School letter.

We’ve seen some amazing learning across both Cypress School sites this week.  Reception children have been busy making plans and creative traps to help Supertato catch the Evil Peas.  Our Lower School Pupil Council have been busy choosing new playground resources with the money raised from their recent cake sale.  Well done to Sycamore class in Year 5 for an inspirational and thought provoking assembly about International Women’s Day, and to Jack who wrote a moving poem entitled ‘What ever we are’.  Congratulations to our Rainbow certificate recipients at Cypress this week and to those who have been awarded Word of the Week rosettes.

We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and look forward to welcoming Parents and Carers into school next week for Parents’ Evening.  Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have not yet arranged an appointment.
