Yesterday, we were all saddened to hear of the passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
It has been such an eventful week at Cypress! Monday and Tuesday saw the hottest temperatures ever recorded in the UK, and the sweatiest school days we’ve ever witnessed!
We have been thinking carefully about mistakes – and how we can use them as an opportunity to learn.
This week we have been thinking about how to show understanding – being aware of other people’s feelings, being tolerant and forgiving.
A big Cypress well done to Evie, Maxwell, Sebastian, Raymond and Pablo for their efforts to support those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
Yesterday and today have been our Upper School Sports Days. We have had tremendous fun!
It has been Science Week and Refugee Week at Cypress. We have been considering the amazing contributions of people who have come to the UK fleeing war, natural disasters or persecution and used our empathy skills to imagine what it would be like to leave your home country, at short notice, with few or none of your personal belongings.
Another week and another exciting sporting experience. This week 6 children from Year 4 & 5 had the opportunity to practise 3X3 basketball.
It has been a warm week and an exceptionally warm day today!
We have had a week full of reflection, in particular considering how best to show that you care about others.
Today we have been celebrating children who have demonstrated outstanding skills in teamwork.
This week we have been thinking about imitation and how we can use this skill to improve our thinking in different subject areas and considering who might be a good choice to imitate.
On Monday, Year 3 and 4 golfers visited Addington Court Golf Club for a competition.
It was a long drive there, but they’ve made it. Year 6 arrived at Boughton Wood around 2:00pm.
