WHINF – Christmas Concerts and Crafts
The Infant Hall has been filled with the sound of singing this week as Reception, Years 1 and 2 took the spotlight in each of their Christmas concerts.
We have some places remaining at our Nursery at Ecclesbourne Primary School in September. Full time and part time places are available. Year 2 had an excellent morning last Thursday, learning all about the Hindu festival Diwali.
Year 2 have been enjoying using manipulatives in maths to consolidate their understanding of place value.
Year 2 have loved reading The Lonely Beast by Chris Judge as their first English text.
Year 2’s final DT project of the year has been ‘Puppets’.
Ahoy there landlubbers! Year 2 had a wonderful Pirates Day on Friday.
The sun shone and the rain stayed away for Year 2 as they spent the day at Broadstairs Beach on Tuesday.
This week in Whole Class Reading we have been reading Too Small Tola by Atinuke.
Year 2 have been exploring habitats as part of their science topic.
Over the past few weeks Year 2 have enjoyed learning about plants in science and considering the conditions a seed needs to germinate and grow into a healthy plant.
Year 2 have loved reading ‘Rosie’s Magic Horse’ by Russell Hoban these past few weeks.
This week Year 2 were able to bring their Thematic topic alive by visiting London.
Since their return to school after the break, Year 2 have immersed themselves in a Design Technology project based around biscuits.
This week all of the children at Whitehorse Infants proudly sang their hearts out in their Christmas Concerts.
