In Nursery and Reception, our week started with a special workshop in each of the classes about the importance of washing our hands. Some nurses from the NHS came and spoke to the children about why handwashing is important and the best way to do this by using soap and water. The children were taught a fabulous handwashing song to the tune of ‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star’. Ask the children if they can remember it once they get home later!
The children were taught about how you can’t see the germs on your hands but that certain types of germs can make you unwell. It is important therefore to wash our hands at certain times of the day: after using the toilet, before eating, after touching animals and after you have been playing outside.
Thank to the NHS team for such informative and interactive workshops, helping us all to keep healthy, especially as the colder weather approaches.
