Over the past few weeks, Year 1 have been reading the text ‘I want my hat back’ by Jon Klassen. The story is about an upset bear who has misplaced his hat. He has asked all the animals, but nobody knows where it is.
Year 1 step in to make Bear a new hat, using fluffy pom-poms, gems and other decorative pieces. We then used adjectives and conjunctions to describe our hats in full sentences.
Suddenly, Bear realises that he has seen his hat! It was taken by a very naughty rabbit. But this rabbit does not think he has done anything wrong. They have a very tense conversation…
We then thought about what Bear and Rabbit might say to each other and put this into sentences.
