What a wonderful start to the school year we have had this week in Little Cypress! We have been welcoming our new Rainbows and Nursery children to their new classes and have been hugely impressed as to how well they are settling in and learning the new routines. Even those completely new to Cypress are taking everything in their stride and we are so proud of them!
These next few weeks will see a huge emphasis on the personal, social and emotional development of our youngest children. Getting these early foundations secure is imperative to ensure that our children are happy, healthy and are able to learn best, in their own way. The staff are taking the time to observe how each child learns and planning activities which reflect their interests and build on and develop their skills.
It has been so heart-warming to see how well the children are already able to negotiate with each other and use their words when they can to articulate how they are feeling. They have all being getting to know Seve, our therapy dog, and are treating him so kindly and gently. Combined with their beautiful manners, we already feel we are going to have a wonderful year ahead.
