We have enjoyed a really busy couple of weeks in Little Cypress! Not only have we had a couple of heatwaves and have therefore enjoyed lots of waterplay, playing outside in the shade and the forest, and taking things a little more slowly (well,,some of us have; some still have boundless energy, whatever the weather!)
Sports MorningÂ
Last Friday, Nursery showed off their athletic prowess at their Sports Morning and all the staff were super impressed with how well the children did at all the various games. They cooled down later with lots of water and some ice-pops!
Superhero Fashion Show
This week, we had a fantastic finale to our year together with our annual Superhero Fashion Show. We were joined by the parents and carers and were wowed with the confidence of the children in displaying their superpowers and strutting the catwalk with such panache and aplomb! It is always so heart-warming to see our youngest children grow in confidence over the year and perform to a big audience with such joy and enthusiasm.
Caterpillars to ButterfliesÂ
We have been wowed by observing our caterpillars changing in to chrysalises. This happened really quickly this year, perhaps due to the hot weather. We are watching with interest to see when they turn in to beautiful butterflies! We will then release them in to the wild to fly free. We have loved hearing the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle and some of us know it by heart!
Year 6 Buddies!
On Thursday, some of the Year 6 children came to play with the Rainbows and Nursery and it was wonderful to see the care and compassion that the older children showed towards the younger ones. They also had some epic water fights!
It seems impossible that we only have one more week left before the summer holidays! More fun is to be had next week with visiting our new classes and teachers and our Little Cypress party on Tuesday!
