Superstar Writers!
In Little Cypress, and especially in Nursery, we have been noticing that the children have been really interested in writing. They have been writing stories independently, using their emergent writing and phonic skills. Some have been writing not only their own names but also attempting to write the names of their friends using initial and even some subsequent sounds. Our writing table has been a hive of activity, as well as children choosing to write in all areas of the setting. What superstars!
Carlo wrote a fantastic story based on ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ but changed some of the plot – well done for using your imagination and recall skills so well, Carlo!
Makaton Sign of the Week

David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday
We had a week focusing on the natural world, whilst thinking about the influence that David Attenborough has had on the environment and helping to highlight the cause of endangered animals throughout the world. Find out more about this incredible man here. We have had plenty of fun creating our own wild animal landscapes, using our ever-improving cutting skills to cut out the animals and place them in their natural habitats. Our small world wild animal set-up has been hugely popular and it has been incredible to watch the children getting fully immersed in their imaginative play. Kiaan, Jaheem and Max even had an epic battle between the lions, tigers and elephants!
We hope you all had a fabulous weekend and we are looking forward to all the fun of Science Week before the half term break.
