CYP LOWER: Marvellous May Moments in Little Cypress

May Days

Once again we have had a fun-packed week in Nursery and Rainbows, despite it being a short one, following the May bank holiday on Monday. We have been enjoying traditional tales such as ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and have been re-enacting the story using story props on our tuff tray. It’s been lovely hearing the children remembering the repeated refrain of ‘Fee-fi-fo-fum…’ being said in a very deep, giant-esque voice!

We have been practising our cutting skills through cutting up pictures from the ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ story. Our confidence is growing all the time with our scissor skills and we are transferring this to other areas of the classroom, when creating collages, cards and shields!

Makaton Sign of the Week

As usual, we have learned a new Makaton sign. This week’s is ‘baby’. Click here to see how to sign ‘baby’.

Remembering our rules and routines

In Nursery, we have been trying very hard to remember all the things we need to do to make sure we are safe, happy and ready to learn. We thought of a multitude of things, including remembering to tidy up, use our inside voices, have good manners and share the toys and resources. Great thinking Nursery!

Super SeveĀ

As always, we have enjoyed the company of Seve, our therapy dog, in Little Cypress and are all remembering how kindly we treat animals, allowing him to rest when he needs to and ensuring he has fresh water to drink. At snack time, Seve even joins us and has his own chopped-up apple or banana!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
