To help get everyone excited about books, we hosted our annual ‘Books, Beans and Bagels’ breakfast morning. Despite it being a chilly morning, children with their parents and carers joined us for breakfast. Our year 5 volunteers did a great job at serving our families their beans and bagels and it was lovely to see families chatting and spending time together. We had our book shop open, where children were able to come and selected one of this year’s World Book Day books to take home. It was fantastic to see children taking their time to make good book choices and chatting to their peers about why they had made that choice.
It was an exciting week for our Reception and Nursery classes as we launched our Reading Spine books. The children were told all about the new books and were given the chance to vote for the book they wanted to hear at storytime at the end of each day. Parents and carers were invited into school for a Reading Café where they were able to share these special books with their children. The sun came out for us and it was beautiful afternoon sitting outside reading and sharing books.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for these events. It was great to see everyone getting excited about books!
