Welcome Back to Spring 2!
How lovely to welcome the Rainbow and Nursery children back to Little Cypress after the half-term break! They have been full of stories to tell us about their adventures, which have been wonderful to hear. We have also seen a glimpse of our elusive sun this week, which bodes well for the start of Spring and some warmer, drier days ahead.
Growing and Learning
We are starting our new topic of ‘Growing’ to coincide with the season of Spring. We have started to learn about the colourful and joyous Hindu festival of Holi, which heralds the start of Spring and the end of Winter. Coloured powder is thrown in tribute to the Hindu god Krishna, who loved to play tricks on people. Please click here to learn more about this fun and bright festival.
We are going to be planting various seeds in the next few weeks and have been listening to different versions of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, remembering the repeated refrains of ‘Fi,fi,fo,fum….’! Elsie recalled: “I loved the bit when Jack saved the golden harp, because it played beautiful music!”
Makaton Sign of the Week
We have, as usual, learned a new Makaton sign and this week’s is very relevant for the time of year. Please click here to see how to sign the word for ‘Spring’.
Rainbow Certificates
Congratulations to Miles, Teddy, Ellis and Carlo for receiving a Rainbow Certificate for their great listening this week during whole class learning. Well done all of you!
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and see you all on Monday!
