This week in Reception, we have been learning all about the emergency services in our literacy lessons. We enjoyed sharing the story of Emergency! this helped us explore the important jobs of firefighters, police officers and paramedics. We talked about how they help keep people and keep us safe. To make our learning even more exciting, Burglar Bill paid a surprise visit and “robbed” out classrooms! This led us to imaginative role play, with the children eagerly helping to solve the crime and save the day.
In Maths this week we were learning about the composition of 6,7 and 8. The children explored how these numbers can be made in practical ways using different resources, counters, cubes, etc. They enjoyed counting, sharing and combining groups to deepen their understanding of how numbers are made.
