Last Wednesday, Year 1 enjoyed a brilliant visit to All Saints Church to learn about the Christmas story. Upon arrival, the children were organised into groups and took part in a range of Christmas crafts. Each group created an angel, a manger, a star and finally a special box containing a chocolate coin. The activities were great fun and the children enjoyed completing them.
Throughout the session, the Christmas story was shared and the children opened presents revealing illustrations linked to different parts of the story. They were keen to discover which section of the story would appear next.
At the end, each picture was added into a Christmas storybook which the children brought back to school to keep in the classroom. They were excited to share their Christmas crafts and took great pride in the storybook they had created together as a class. A big thank you to All Saints Church for having us and to all the parents who came along and supported us on the trip.
