whinf The Naughty Bus and part part whole!

This week in Reception, we created our own version of Naughty Bus. First, we read the story together and talked about all the cheeky things the Naughty Bus gets up to. Then the children planned their own ideas, thinking about where their bus might travel and what mischief it could make. The children added captions and sentences, using their phonics to help them write. By the end of the week, we had made a wonderful class book full of creativity, imagination, and very naughty buses!

This week in Reception we explored part–part–whole using real objects and body parts instead of numbers. We used our bodies, identifying parts like hands, feet, and facial features that belong to one whole person. Through discussion, play, and simple challenges, the children learned that parts can be different but still belong to the same whole person.

Today we invited staff and students to help and raise money for the Jamaican relief effort by wearing colours of the Jamaican flag. There was a great turnout, well done to everyone in Reception who helped to contribute to the fund.
