To celebrate cave people day, year 3 dressed up in leopard print and fur costumes to experience Prehistoric Britain first hand. They had a visit to a prehistoric roundhouse at Whitehorse Manor Junior School where they were introduced to prehistoric life by Twig and Memma.
They taught our year 3s many exciting things about the Stone Age Period including how ancient people hunted and prepared food, how they lit their fires and the importance of the tools they used.
The children enjoyed the beautiful cave paintings that were displayed around the roundhouse tent, which showed the timeline from Palaeolithic Stone Age, Mesolithic and Neolithic Stone Age. Twig and Memma even treated them to some of their fish, which they prepared and cooked on the fire.
