Sun, glorious sun!
What a fabulously fun week has flown by in Little Cypress! The sun has certainly had his hat on this week and we have so enjoyed playing outside and reading books on the picnic rugs under our cherry blossom tree in the playground. We have been remembering to put our sun hats on, drink plenty of water and seek shade when it gets too hot! Lots of us are also trying really hard to put on our suncream in the afternoons if we are here all day – what independent superstars!
Cress Mountains
Having planted our cress mountains on Friday, we were so surprised to see the amazing growth that had taken place over the weekend, when we came in on Monday morning! We have been watering our cress mountains religiously and making sure they have access to plenty of sunshine. :
Haroon noted that: “It looks like tiny, little trees!”
and Laolu remarked: “It’s grown really tall!”
On Tuesday, we are going to cut the mustard and cress and make and taste sandwiches with them! Yummy!
We were also delighted to see that some of our broad beans have started to grow in to mini beanstalks!
Marvellous Mathematicians
The adults in Little Cypress have been so impressed with how innovative the children have been with the maths equipment this week. We have witnessed sorting, ordering, counting, colour coding, building, balancing and so much more with the loose parts.
Makaton Sign of the Week
As usual, we have learned a new Makaton sign this week. Today’s sign is ‘ballet’, Click here to see how to sign the word ‘ballet’.
Rainbow Certificate Winners
Hank and Maya for wonderful carpet participation and Maya’s amazing knowledge of woodland animals.
Bella for waiting so patiently today to tell Miss Chapman something and not interrupting. She said: “I waited until you finished your conversation, Miss Chapman, and I didn’t interrupt!”
Nyla and Blake for listening so beautifully at whole class story times and for being very kind to their friends and to Seve.
