The Whitehorse Year 5 and 6 Indoor Athletics team soared to victory in the recent qualifying event on Wednesday. We were awarded second place at the competition and have been invited to compete in the finals event in January.
The team trained hard in preparation for the event and their hard work and natural talent certainly paid off. From speed bounces to javelin throws, the children pushed themselves to their limits and were up against fierce competition from other schools.
The competition really heated up in the race and relay events and despite dropping the baton in one race, we picked it straight back up and carried on! We were thrilled to come first in the girls’ relay race and second in the boys’ relay race.
Most impressively, the team showed exceptional sportsmanship values throughout the event and were true ‘Pegasus People.’
