Last Friday, Year 1 enjoyed an exciting and memorable trip to the Horniman Museum. Throughout the day, the children discovered many fascinating facts about Africa and explored a variety of African artefacts, including clothing, jewellery, toys and animal skeletons.
Inside the museum, the children also learnt about African musical instruments and enjoyed the opportunity to play some of them. As part of their science learning, they spent time observing the beautiful flowers in the museum gardens and sketched them carefully. Although it was a very hot day, the children made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed eating their lunch outside. They also had a great time visiting the animals and were very excited to discover that the Horniman Museum has a view across part of London. The children had the chance to play in the museum’s new play area which was lots of fun.
It was a brilliant day filled with learning, discovery and fun. On the journey home, the children shared their favourite moments from the trip.
