New Wellbeing Ambassadors at Atwood for 2025-26

Last Friday, the new Wellbeing Ambassadors for this year met for the first time.  They are:
Esme and John from Cyan
Alyaa and Ronnie from Magenta
Jack and James from Lavender
Ezra and Lara from Teal
Max and Alice from Indigo
Mehran and Sadie from Amber
Elisa and Teddy from Ruby
Freddie and Imaya from Jade
The children were congratulated for putting themselves forward to undertake this responsibility. In their application forms, it was clear that they had thought about how they could make a difference this year.
When asked what qualities you can offer, Teddy from Ruby class wrote, “I am kind, caring and I like to make people happy when they feel sad.  I am a good listener and like to make people smile.”  While Sadie from Amber said, “I can bring hope, love, happiness, helpfulness and my heart.”
When asked how they could make a difference to wellbeing at Atwood, Alice from Indigo class wrote, “I could think of things to introduce that are good for mental health. For example, a crazy joke club, because it will make people laugh.” Mehran from Amber wrote, “I have a positive attitude.  I help people and ask if they want to play.” Elisa from Ruby class shared, “Mental health is a way of feeling good about yourself.”
When thinking of things that help people with their wellbeing, John from Cyan suggested “Keep learning new skills and connect with others.” Max from Indigo said to “never give up and keep humble.” Jack from Lavender wrote, “Eat well; spend time doing the things you like; try something new; be kind to others and drink lots of water.”
And James for Lavender class shared this beautiful quote, “Happiness can always be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.” Esme from Cyan said to “always be you and that is the only thing that matters.” And Alyaa from Magenta class wrote, “It is okay not to feel okay!”
We discussed how leading wellbeing plays an important role in our school.  They were all very excited about the work they had signed up to do this year and were keen to start generating ideas of what they could do.  All good ideas need to be grounded in research, so the children were encouraged to discuss this with their classmates. They will gather ideas about how wellbeing could be improved at Atwood.  The Ambassadors now have two weeks to do their research before meeting again to share what they have found.
