Friendship Week at EPS

We have been celebrating Friendship Week at EPS and exploring the theme for this year, ‘Power for Good’.  Power can be used in good ways such as being kind, brave and including other children.  Sometimes people can use their power to be unkind, leave someone out or make other people feel uncomfortable.  We all have the power to be kind, include others and speak up if we see someone being unkind or hurt.  Let’s all use our ‘Power for Good’!

On Monday children and staff wore odd socks to school to celebrate the fact that we’re all unique.  We also marked World Kindness Day with an assembly on Wednesday and children have been busy talking about ways in which they can show kindness and be good friends in class.

Our wonderful PTFA have created a kindness tree and gave every child a special leaf to write their very own kindness pledge on.  Throughout the week, children have been adding their colourful leaves to the tree and it’s truly blossoming with wonderful words of kindness.  The PTFA also handed out kindness treats to children after school today – what a wonderful way to end the week!
