Lots of learning to recap on this week!
On Monday, we introduced the story Willbee the bumblebee. We learnt the key vocabulary; jersey, fray, pollen, weave, hive, bee from our story and learnt what each word means. The children listened to the story and retold it in their own way using actions. There have been lots of creative bee activities that the children have engaged with. We have some lovely artwork hanging up in the classroom!
On Tuesday, we learnt about the celebration of Eid. The children watched a video and listened to stories from children across the country who celebrate. They then discussed what was similar and different to the other celebrations we have learnt about. Eid Mubarak to those who are celebrating!
We have been doing lots more planting this week, both in forest school and our outside area. We were kindly gifted some new planters and the children have been busy raking and planting tomato and carrots seeds into them. Fingers crossed they grow! Our beanstalks from 2 weeks ago have been making lots of progress and the children were keen to draw and write about their observations.
In Maths, we have been learning about the numerals 4 and 5. We have practiced writing 4 and 5 and collecting these amounts. Yesterday, we helped the numberblocks build their band by listening to different instruments and counting out their sounds. We have been practicing knowing the total amount is the last number you count.
The sound of the week was ‘h’. The children found hexagons, helicopters, horses and many more things. Great work!
