We started the week in KS1 learning more about Building Learning Powers, exploring how we can be resourceful learners. Mrs Guerry led a fantastic assembly teaching us all how important it is to guess and predict what might happen next, finding evidence to prove things. This skill makes us better learners! Mrs Ebrahim taught us all about ‘Stranger Danger’ on Tuesday during assembly, exploring how to keep ourselves safe and learning who we can talk to if we have any worries or problems.
Well done to Oskar and Suwaiba in Year 2 for their independent multiplication work in maths this week. Children from Turquoise class have been creating some exciting expanded noun phrases to describe a character who will feature as a ‘baddie’ in their alternative fairytale writing next week. Our children in Reception have been reading ‘The Gruffalo’ this week, using vivid colours to paint their own Gruffalos with terrible teeth, orange eyes and purple prickles all over his back.
We celebrated lots of children’s achievements in our Rainbow Assembly today at the Lower School, with so many children making a great start to 2023. Well done to Nooria, Basil, Ted and Dani-Elrod for winning a Word of the Week rosette for using ‘resolution’ in a great sentence. Next week our word is question.
